Dolmabache Palace
Today I used public transportation (tram) to visit Dolmabahce Palace. It was built in 1844 and was used as the official residence of Sultan Abdulmecit I and fell empty when the royal family was exiled in 1922. The palace grounds are lovely and is right on the Bosphorus (water). Unfortunately taking photos inside the palace is forbidden –the interior is not only beautifully preserved, but truly spectacular.
