Pamukkale
Pamukkale -the ruins of the city of Hierapolis and the Travertine Terrace Formations. Not much is known about the origins of the city. Pamukkale's terraces are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by mineral water from the hot springs. Hierapolis became a healing centre where doctors used the thermal springs as a treatment for their patients.
The pools are only filled every 5 days and we were fortunate enough to visit on the 5th day. The pools were dry when we first arrived, but after a few hours, more than half of the pools were filled. So beautiful.
