Egypt 8-29-15

I went by small plane from Cairo to Luxor. There I toured the Temple of Luxor. It dates from around 1392 BC and for thousands of years was buried in sand. A mosque was built on top. Once the temple was discovered they preserved the mosque –which is still used as a place of worship today. The small lake is man-made and was used for bathing. We then went to the temple of Karnack which is approximately 3 miles away. There is a street (path) that is currently under excavation linking the two temples. It is lined with sphinxes.
