Ireland 8-25-15

Today we drove along the shores and took a ferry across the river Shannon to the Cliffs of Moher. The weather was fairly nice (patchy clouds) until we pulled up to the cliffs. The second we stepped off the bus, there was a torrential downpour. We were not detoured. We trekked up to the view point. Of course we got soaking wet and were freezing afterwards but we can say we saw it. Yes, we are a determined lot. LOL We drove by a very popular golf course –Tiger Woods and former president Ford have played there. It is extremely difficult in that it consists of mostly large mounds. One part of the course has the remains of ruined building. After we checked into our hotel, we attended a dinner banquet/show at Bunratty Castle. It was built in the early 1500’s and is furnished with pieces from the 16th and 17th century.
