Scotland 8-20-15

Edinburgh -last day in Scotland. We explored the city of Edinburgh. It was a wonderful mixture of old and new with narrow lanes and medieval townhouses along the Royal Mile (oldest part of the city). The Scott Monument, dedicated to Sir Walter Scott was an impressive piece of work. Edinburgh Castle was amazing. Later that night we went back to the castle to attend the Royal Military Tattoo (A tattoo is a military performance of music or display of armed forces in general) they had military participants from all over the world. The most inspiring performance was when over 200 Scotsman with bagpipes took the field. The walk up to the castle is along the Royal Mile. Thousands attended the Tattoo and the street was closed to vehicles.
