Busy day. 1st up -a trip to Culloden field. This was a scene of a bloody battle (massacre really) that lasted only an hour. The battlefield also served as a mass grave and there is a monument to mark the site. (notice the purple heather) Bonnie Prince Charlie's supporters were defeated and the Prince went on the run. On the grounds they had hairy cows. Yep, they reminded me of big sheep dogs. Then to cheer us up, we went to Blair Athol Distillery. They make 12yr old single malt scotch. After the tour, we got to sample the goods. Think refined moonshine. wink emoticon The town we stayed in (Pitlochy) was very picturesque. The hotel was over the top.
